Here's a small sampling of my recent poetry, both individual poems and collections in progress. after snack and coffeewe sprawl on blue carpetunder a fishbowl windowpale sunlight filteringbetween new leavesand we read about Jonahand how he ran from God Poetry gives us a way to breathe in our lives. When Russia invaded Ukraine, my heart was moved to write a series of protest poems drawing on the Psalms. This is my current work in progress. Thank you for taking the time to share this space with me. Wars are waged on the miscalculation that they can be won.Wars are never won. Even when a ceasefire is achieved, it comes at a dreadful cost. And for those pursuing war to fulfill their own selfish purposes or evil intents? What they seek will ever escape them. Even when I read the headlines, the articles, the posts, I am still often at a loss to fully grasp what is happening in Ukraine. How do I pray in a space where I often don't know what to pray?
